PRESTADEV / PRESTASHOP SERVICES

PrestaShop development involves building new features and adapting a store to a company's needs. At PrestaDev, we create custom modules, integrations with other systems and modifications to existing solutions.

Describe the feature you need

When an off-the-shelf module is not enough

Do customers need an extra option when buying, does order processing involve manual tasks, or is your store unable to exchange data with a system you use? These are useful starting points for discussing a custom change. You do not need to know the technical term — just describe the problem and the result you want.

What does the service include?

Custom modules

New store and back-office features, tailored to the agreed way of managing customers and orders.

System integrations

Connections to wholesalers, suppliers and external services, within the capabilities of their APIs — the interfaces used to exchange data.

Enhancing existing features

Changes to modules, forms and the purchasing process, following a review of the existing code and dependencies.

Changes to the store's appearance

Adapting theme elements and the way data is displayed to the features covered by the project.

What needs to be agreed separately?

Paid module licences, external service subscriptions, a complete visual design and subsequent development are not automatically included in development work. We agree on the scope and any additional costs before starting. It is also worth checking first whether an off-the-shelf module can meet the need.

How does the work proceed?

  1. Define the outcome

We establish who will use the feature, what they will do step by step and what a correct result should look like.

  2. Review the store

We check the PrestaShop version, theme, modules and documentation for the systems the solution needs to work with.

  3. Agree on and implement the scope

We separate essential requirements from optional additions. Changes are prepared for review in an agreed test environment.

  4. Test and deploy

We check the agreed scenarios and agree on how the solution will go live in the store and be maintained before deployment.

What should you prepare for our discussion?

  • The store address and PrestaShop version, if you know it.
  • A description of how things work now and how they should work after the change.
  • Examples, screenshots or a list of user actions.
  • The name and documentation of the external system, if an integration is needed.

Do not send passwords or customer data at the initial stage. We will agree separately on how to provide any necessary access.

What does the quote depend on?

Pricing depends on the number and complexity of features, the condition of the existing code, integration requirements and the scope of testing. A larger project can be split into stages. The billing model, schedule and post-launch support arrangements need to be agreed for each project.

How do we verify the completed work?

We tailor acceptance criteria to the agreed scope. For this service, the main checks are:

  • The feature works in the agreed scenarios, including invalid or incomplete data.
  • Customer and staff permissions match the scope of the solution.
  • The change does not disrupt the identified, related parts of the purchasing process.

Support after completion, subsequent changes and updates are covered by the terms agreed in the offer for each project.

Questions before getting started

Do I need to prepare a technical specification?

No. Start with a description of the problem, an example and the result you want. This provides a basis for refining the requirements and establishing whether you need a new module, an integration or a smaller modification.

Can you modify a module made by another developer?

Whether a change is possible depends on access to the code, the licence terms and the module's structure. It needs to be reviewed first. Not every module can be extended in the same way.

Will the solution work after every store update?

Compatibility is agreed for specific versions and configurations. Custom changes should be checked before the next update to the store, PHP or related modules; any adjustments may form a separate scope of work.
